Supplemental Earnings, "Earn while you Learn" : The agency does a variety of jobs which help to support the purpose and mission of the overall program while providing work adjustment, work evaluation, vocation training, and "meaningful day." There is therapy in work.

Scott Appalachian Industries is always looking for work to subcontract from industry. Quality of work is guaranteed and references can be provided upon request. Our facility also offers a source of storage of contract goods and possesses excellent material handling capability.

Scott Appalachian Industries is an habilitation/ therapeutic work center and exists for the purpose of providing respite, therapy, and vocational experience for citizens with disabilities rather than just a job. However, useful and salable goods are produced and utilized in this process and a commensurate wage is paid as a consequence.

By commensurate we mean that peace-rate-wages, established by means of a time study of all contracts, is paid. This means that Scott Appalachian Industries is not required to place unrealistic performance demands on participants but rather encourages them to reach maximum potential while remaining in a growing, developing, meaningful activity daily.
